Happy friday! I have never really introduced myself, but I think its about time.
Hello there! I am Lauren. The mom, boss lady, and wife behind the camera. I started taking pictures when I was 10 back in the days of film, by 15 I had my own digital camera, and at 19 I started my own business. I grew up in the country and moved to Youngstown to attend YSU. When I met my (now) husband he helped me develop my passion and start my journey through photography.
Here are some random fun facts about me!
1.) If you could live in any period of history, what would it be?
It's kind of a tie between the 1940's and 1960's. I have always been in love with the culture, music and change of both time periods. On one hand I would have totally been a hippy chick protesting, dancing, traveling... but I probably would have fit in at a big band club as well.
2.) What’s your dream occupation – the one job you’d love to have if you weren’t doing what you’re doing now?
This may (or may not) be a surprise but in high school I wanted to be a photographer for Alternative Press or Rolling Stone magazine. Growing up music was always a big part of my life. When I started to get into my teen years I really loved going to live concerts (specifically Motion City Soundtrack whom I have seen several times.) I always thought it would be the best life traveling and photographing my favorite bands! Luckily I fell into portrait photography, I wouldn't have lasted more than a month on the road with a band (I love my bed too much haha!)
3.) Describe your first car and what you loved or hated most about it.
My first car was a black Honda Accord with hot pink pinstriping. We called her punk vomit and she was the most unreliable car ever! Everyone in Austintown knew her, and my husband was even laughed at one time while driving it (it may have been because of the Hello Kitty decor on the mirror!)
4.) What’s on your most played playlist?
At this time the spotify Ska playlist has been keeping me moving, but some most played songs right now include:
1. Childish Gambino - This is america
2. Arkelles - Leather Jacket
3. Ariana Grande - No Tears Left To Cry
4. Kygo - It Ain't Me
5. Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution - A Call to Arm
5.) What’s on your Bucket List?
I think the top of my list is to go to Ireland. About once a year I have a dream where my husband, daughter and I move there to open a Inn. Sagittarius's are travers at heart and my wanderlust keeps calling me there.
I hope you enjoyed some random things about me! Maybe I will post another next week. Have a great weekend!
